Who Do You Think You are?
Ouch! I cringe as I write the title. Whenever that question is asked, it usually doesn’t come from a place of love. It is normally in the middle of a heated conversation. An argument. And yet it is a question we should be asking ourselves every morning when we get up. Or throughout the day. For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee. Proverbs 23:7 Thoughts are powerful. God has given us this phenomenon to us- the ability to think. To create the words and experiences we want, we need to change our thinking.

Love. Change. Live!
I was reflecting on this question. When your friend messes up, what do you say to them? “It’s going to be ok” You look for ways to make her feel better. When you mess up, what do you say to yourself? …. I guess if you are like me, you are always hard on yourself. We did not learn self- compassion. Let us turn the tide. Teach your child self-compassion. Better still, learn it together. Practice it and ask to hold each other accountable. It will reflect in all areas of their lives. There is not a better time to learn. You are the perfect person to learn from.…

My Growth as a Mom!
It is May 10th, 2020. It is the day that is set aside to celebrate our mothers. To recognize all that they do for us. The valleys and mountains they walk with us. A special thank you goes to my children. Without them, I would not have this honorable title. They call me mom because I birthed them. I do not take it for granted because the lessons they have taught me are so precious, I am a better person because of my kids. How I have grown!! In Prayer I have relied on God to give me the strength to bring up His children in the way they should…

It Shall be Well!
To say that we are living in a stressful time is an understatement. Is there a solution to all this? I believe so. Listen to this. Matthew 11:28 Come to me, all (ye) that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. If you are like me, that verse is very familiar and maybe you already have memorized it. It refers to us taking all our troubles to The Lord who will bear it for us. What an appropriate verse to fall back to at this time of isolation and quarantine! Everyone’s life has been turned upside down. Parents who dreamed of a job where they could…

Turning a New Leaf?!
When the new year rolls around, it is very likely that you set new goals or resolutions that you want to accomplish throughout the new year. Maybe you chose a word that will be your focus for the year, or possibly a phrase or a motto to use as your compass for the year. According to the dictionary, a motto is a quotation or phrase chosen as encapsulating the beliefs or ideals guiding someone, family, or institution. One particular quotation that comes to mind is my high school motto. “Forward ever, Backward never” This was printed on our shirts, yes we had uniforms. and sweaters. Several decades have passed since…

Why We Met!
The temperatures are in the fifties and believe it or not, it is December! In Georgia! No heavy coats, no boots, and no gloves. After all, it is the south. When most of the country is enjoying a white Christmas, the south was as brown as it can be. Last week I had a visit from my friend Cheryl who lives in Ohio. She and her family had not been to Georgia and could not believe that they could go hiking. To them, fifty degrees felt like we were experiencing a heatwave. Our friends could not believe that they had left behind four feet of snow in the ground. “This…

Never Seen Before
Have you ever met a prayer warrior? The kind of person that you can always count on to pray for and with you? That is the kind of friend we all need in our corner. Have you ever thought to listen to how they pray? Do they have a certain pattern to their prayer? What does that say about them and their prayers? It is in these moments that we can learn more about the person praying and a little bit about their character. My mom was a prayer warrior. Not just one to say that I will pray for you and forget about it the minute you are out…

Books That Inspire Me!
Although The Holy Bible is the first and most inspiring book to me, I do not feel that I should put it in this list simply because it is equal to none and I will not be doing the authors listed here any justice by putting them on the same list as The Bible. I believe that The Bible is God’s word to me. As I continue to travel this journey, I have come across people that, in their giftedness of writing, have made a difference in my life. I am thankful to them for using their talent to inspire people like me who find joy in written words. Intentional…
